You are conscious of certain parts of your brain (presumably those that have high organized complexity of a certain kind), many of which are representations of external objects. If there are no representations of your skull it is probably because they have not been useful in evolution. It is more useful to be conscious of what is going on around your body than of the interior of your skull. We can't rule out that your consciousness is not located in your brain and your brain just serves as a kind of preliminary processor of sensory data that somehow sends the preprocessed data to some other object (soul?) where your consciousness is located but there's not much evidence for that. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Everything List" group.
