Thinning the herd is something that can be done by self selection as you have indicated (Would Darwin have agreed with this statement?). Herd immunity and its efficacy is a side topic that I would rely on the biologists to determine, if it is true or not? Side topic-comment follows. What I am forced to notice is that why we see if Covid does its job, to your benefit, the current administration seems really good at inducing Black Swans that cause things to it's detriment via policy driven by ideology.
