And additionally, make sure you have the latest SPs for Office installed and
have unchecked the "Instant Messenger" box in Outlook 2002.

This is a great resource for nailing down where the problem most likely is.

Basically, what it boils down to is you have 3 areas where you could be
having problems. Client, Network, and Server. This doc helps you figure
out which one through a series of perfmon counters.

Subject: Requesting Data from Server

We are constantly getting "Requesting Data from Microsoft Exchange Server".
Does anyone know how to fix this problem or at least how to troubleshoot it?

If I check the connection status from within Outlook 2003 when I get the
message, I see really slow average response times from the Exchange server.
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 150-500 however, when things are working
normally the times are less than 40!

DOMAIN
* Single windows 2000 domain
* 3 domain controllers that are all acting as GC servers
* 1,500 accounts

EXHCNAGE SERVERS
* Windows 2000 Sp4 w/ all the latest patches
* 2 Exchange server 2000 w/ Post Sp3 (Version 6487)
* Each Exchange server is dual PIII 900 w/ 3.5 GB of memory
* NICs are hard coded to 100 FULL DUPLEX and we are using Compaq Load
Balancing option

*Our clients are all using Outlook 2000, XP and 2003

Thanks in advance for any help!

Aaron
