We are in Exchange 2000 native mode w/ 2 backend servers and 1 frontend server. The server that seems to be causing the problem is as follows:
The server is a Master for Organization. Dual 1Ghz CPU 3.5GB Ram RAID Controller 1 has the following: RAID 1 for OS (Page file is located here also) RAID 1 for Logs RAID Controller 2 has the following: RAID 5 for Exchange Store 2 100MB NICs that are Teamed and set to 100 FULL Duplex It has 1 Storage group w/ 5 stores Store 1 = 19GB Store 2 = 13.6GB Store 3 = 13.7GB Store 4 = 3GB Store 5 = 1GB We are also seeing RPC Averaged Latency of around 50-100. Also, just having the results from only one perfmon counter (rpc ops/sec) isn't going to say what the problem is. Can you provide more details about your system configuration? CPU's, Memory, Hard drives, RAID levels, plus the results of the other counters. For example, you say that the rpc operations/sec is high. What does your RPC requests look like? What do your disk reads and writes/sec look like? What do your memory counters look like? (memory\pages/sec, page reads/sec, page writes/sec). The document should help you figure out where the bottleneck is.
