Well, say the user's name in this case is Anne Smith. When I type in "asmith" and then do the check, it tells me that Outlook does not recognize "asmith." If I try with the SMTP address it looks like it should. The user is not located anywhere within the GAL that the Outlook user can find.
I have checked to see if the "hide from address book" setting was turned on, since that was my first thought, and it is not. "Also, what is your schedule set to for generating your address lists?" Well, here's the thing... This is a new GAL, but has been in place since Friday. The user has been in the system for quite some time, so she's not a new addition. We have a new server that's been added to the organization, and the one I'm working on currently was the only one with any mailboxes previously. When the new server was added (by a different facility), the default GAL then had both our sets of users. So, each set up its own new GAL. So, this user was viewable under the old GAL, but not now under the new one. I'm not really user how this ought to affect things, especially since the user's mailbox IS visible in the GAL preview.
