It certainly reduces the chances of being hit - obviously many things need admin privs or some other kind of advanced rights to install. I don't think its a worthwhile spyware prevention tool in and of itself because those who know better are already running w/o admin rights for day to day crud, and those who don't know better will continue to use whatever rationalisation they have to continue doing what they do.
