In the Windows world you are 'rude' for expecting people to phrase a
proper technical question. Much like the educational system in the US we
should respect and value the differences in others, even if the
'difference' is the others are lazy and/or ignorant.

There's no reason you'd need to keep the IMC in a mixed environment... I
don't think. But just to clarify, since you don't have a shared GAL do
you also have a disjointed namespace between sites/admin groups (e.g.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED])? Does your smarthost
then handle the routing for the other sites as well as outbound internet
e-mail?
