We backup the premium user accounts this way, and the rest rely on our
standard Exchange backups strategy. By choosing a select group (100 or
so users) we do not have concerns about backup windows or space. I
believe throughput is comparable to a standard Exchange backup.

Subject: RE: Anyone using Commvault Galaxy?

Thanks for replying. That's encouraging. I have to admit it seems a
mutts nuts piece of software, though I say that coming from Arcserve.

So it treats the two as separate backups? It doesn't do a sort of
"hybrid"
single backup that lets you get both a full online backup and a bricks
level backup?

I'm thinking with a 70gb or so store are you literally backing up 70gb
online, plus another 70gb as a separate bricks level job?

What sort of throughput are you seeing? I know environment means it'll
vary but I take it it's not stupidly slow?

Thinking about it I bet this is in the Galaxy online help, but it's
still good to get an opinion from someone who uses it.

cheers,
Paul
