Subject: SMTP Addresses Disappearing

Environment:
Servers are all Win2k3, SP1. They are hosting:
              Exchange 2003, SP1, native mode
              AD 2003, native mode

Workstations are currently a mix of Win2k SP4 and WinXP SP2 and
they are all using Outlook 2003

Issue:
Ok...I've never heard of this before and I don't even know where
to start. I did a quick Google search and found nothing that appeared
to apply to our situation. I also did a quick search of the server
logs, but didn't see anything that stood out.

By default, all of our new mailbox-enabled AD accounts have two SMTP
addresses (primary and secondary) and an X400 address. Our older
accounts have two SMTP addresses, two X400 addresses and an X500
address.

Somewhere, somehow, something is deleting one of the SMTP addresses.
So far, it appears that it is only deleting the secondary SMTP
address...but it's completely random from what we can tell. There is
no time period in particular that it happens, nor does it make a
distinction between new or old mailboxes. We might have three
addresses disappear in a week and then it might happen again next
month and then it might not happen again for three months.

I have heard of mailboxes being deleted by other admins, e-mail
disappearing from mailboxes, users disappearing from the GAL, but
never heard of SMTP addresses disappearing from random mailboxes.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
