Hi, I think I am probably the poster you are refering to. We haven't posted the fix because we still haven't resolved it.
Since my last posting on this thread, we have tried running without the Sophos MailMonitor anti-virus and also without the GFI MailEssentials. The problems continued while these were not running. We have also rebuilt the entire server as a virgin install of win2003 and Ex2003 (the original was a win2000/Ex2000 upgraded to 2003).
