Unfortunately, you are caught in the Microsoft trap. Typically MS only
allows a total of 5 region changes before it locks itself (and cannot be
changed again).

The only way around this is to find and download a third party solution (my
wife did this and it cost $20-30USD. Worked very nicely) to override this
"wonderful Microsoft feature".

I can't remember off the top of my head what the name of it was, but will
ask.

You can search on multi-region DVD for windows

Good luck!

Subject: Expat List dvds and windows and regions

Hi, computer-savvy, technical-minded Expatniki. I have a Russian-purchased
computer and licenced Russian Microsoft Windows (XP). In the past I could
watch either Russian region or US region DVD discs by going into Windows
Media Player and switching the region. The region chosen in that program
determined the region for the other media programs I have. Only today I
switched and then noticed that I have "used up my number of changes." That
is, Windows Media Player lets you switch back and forth X number of times
and then -- that's it. Since Windows Media Player seems to control the other
media programs, I'm now locked in one region. (BTW, "0" was not an option
for region -- you had to pick a country.)

Anyone solved this problem?

Thanks
