Hi Michele,

I solved the problem by loading software called DVD Idle, which circumvents the 
region-code protection on virtually any player software, but you also might 
want to have a look at this:

http://www.dvd-x-player.com/

There is also a region-free shareware player called VLC Media Player, with a 
traffic cone icon, that you can download for free from here:

http://www.vlc.de/

I like the features on the VLC, particularly for watching dowloaded movies, but 
for some reason it has trouble playing some discs on my computer, i.e. the 
discs will play, but with a lot of fuzzy white digitization.
