Does your machine happen to be a an ISP using Compaq servers booting with the system configuration utility startup routine? How is your firewall setup? Do you have pmfirewall installed to set up your ipchains rules? Or, have you created rules to block 127.0.0.0 from the external interface/remote-network? Do your ipchains rules now reflect the updated network info? It sounds like a misconfiguration--this one again--but I'm not sure it's necessarily yours. Send me the packet log entry(ies) when you get the chance, will ya? :-) --Greg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Loron" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > I recently switched internet providers, and as a consequence had to update > the network info on my Mandrake 6.1 (kernel 2.2.17, SMP) box I use as a > firewall/ ip masq server.
