I just purchased a 3Com US Robotics 56K Faxmodem (V.90 and x2). My Mandrake 7.2 installation finds the modem and connects with it but connection is at 26400 baud. It is not the phone lines because my old 33K modem (that it is supposed to replace) connects at 115000. Could it be that the v.90 and x2 protocols need to be installed under linux and have not?
