Before you scrap konqueror try installing jdk 1.2.2 from either Sun or
Blackdown.
I am using that from Sun and I have noticed no problems witn java in either
konqueror or StarOffice 5.2

I need javascript. The pages I am unable to use at my university are an
ordering site for DNA sequencing - it uses javascript up the ying-yang. Not
even the latest Mozilla can deal with it and Konqueror fails just as
miserably. No error messages, nothing, just...nothing happens. The other
site I am unable to use properly is an Outlook web interface to my local
school email account. None of the interface "button" work and I am unable
to
view my email. It is also a javascript issue.

I DO know that Netscape 4.3 - 4.75 work perfectly with these two sites.
Thus, whatever is screwy is in Konqueror's and Mozilla's versions of
javascript.

I had hoped to ultimately use konqueror instead of having to install large
netscape or mozilla browsers, but now it appears that I must delete mozilla
and reinstall netscape 4.75 so I can access required websites.
