I have just installed a nice new sony CRX140E cdwriter in my machine but
cannot get it to work. Mandrake 7.2 was already installed, and the bios
finds the drive. Details are:

HDA hard disk
HDB hard disk
HDC LS120 IDE-floppy (not set up as yet.)
HDD CDWRITER

I have used the test script from the cdwriter howto which gives:

The following is only needed for IDE/ATAPI CD-writers.
Cdrecord 1.9 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jrg
Schilling
Linux sg driver version: 2.1.39
Using libscg version 'schily-0.1'
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'MITBISHI' 'LS-120 F200 08' '0220' Removable Disk
        0,1,0 1) *
        0,2,0 2) *
        0,3,0 3) *
        0,4,0 4) *
        0,5,0 5) *
        0,6,0 6) *
        0,7,0 7) *

It can only seem to find the LS-120. All the required modules load
except for ide-cd.o which seems to be compiled into the kernel (sr_mod.o
was missing so I compiled it). I suspect that the standard Mandrake
install has allocated hdd to the normal cdrom and I have to undo that so
it can be reallocated to scd0/1 (the LS120 seems to be scd0/0) - anyone
have some hints for me?
