A lot of things were changed from 7.2 to 8.0. Off my head, I can think of: - - directory locations (better FHS compliance) - - kernel (2.2 -> 2.4) - - gcc - - all the support files needed by a change in kernel and gcc I installed 8.0 in a fresh partition and had no problems. Having /home seperate saved much hassle.
