I work a 50-60 hour week. Unfortunately, I have a life outside of racing. I work out, eat out, attend meetings of other subject groups, and like to get a good night's sleep. Sound like you? Probably so. I do NOT eat, sleep, and live racing. I AM an enthusiast but, I am NOT obsessed. Some of you are obsessed; the rest is like me.
Hear, hear!
I just started in this f500 thing, so maybe my view doesn't count for much, but it echoes D. Gill's view. While I like the sounds of many of the possibilities, ---as a race fan how could I not like the idea of more power and a gear box--- but cost in money and time are more than I can afford. Furthermore, I don't want to get mashed up in an on track incident; it takes too long to heal and I already have enough health problems. I don't want to win at all costs. I stick to Solo 2 mainly. At fifty years of age, there is no future in racing for me. I just like doing it and, win or lose (more accurately lose or lose 8-)) I have fun where I am. There has to be more old people like me that would get into this kind of racing.
