John, 
Are you getting those wimpy measurements by measuring at the bare hub
surface? You need to measure at the outside of the wheel/tire assembly
while mounted on the car. I bet you will come closer to the 55 max, when
done that way. Did you say you had a 84 Red Devil?

Poop! I'm at 49 front and 48 rear. Jeff, do you know whether or not I
will 
reduce oversteer if I bring the back end closer to max? I can understand
how 
it would impact body roll etc, but I'm not sure so clear on how it will 
improve grip overall.
