I would look into the questions others are asking first before you start widening the car. Plus, how new are the tires? Is the car square? Is the front end aligned, symmetrical? Is everything tight? Do you see anything broken? Cracked welds?

A wider car isn't necessarily the answer. Our car is around 51-52" wide and it works. But a wider car might work for you and your car. If you do make it wider, make sure the bodywork fits the rules. But first I would make other changes (like alignment, toe, etc...), a drastic change at a time, and see what it does.

Our car used to spin very easily when we first got it. We went through and adjusted everything and it got better. It still spun, but at a higher limit. My dad then redid the rear geometry and suspension and the rear end is now working better. I can still spin it, but it's a lot harder to do now.

Absolutely everywhere.....?

We could best ask Les about that. 8-)

He co-drove the car with me on Sunday and just HOWLED at how bad it handled. I was calling him the "helicopter pilot" near day's end. He was muttering about someone putting grease all over the tires. 8-) Anyways, we made few changes to suspension and got our times down a bit, but I honestly can't say where the problem is. The thing is out of control so quickly and so often that you can't keep track.

BTW, I did screw up on the measuring. I'll blame it on the "Chemo" Somehow or other I was working with both metric and imperial measures in mind and didn't calculate correctly. My front end is 53 inches and my back end is 52 inches. So, I have room to move these things out if it will improve handling/grip. I think I'll try the back end since it looks very easy to do, and because that is where I have the least grip.
