I expect the metallic beating you are seeing was the thrust washer as it
disintegrated. Kawasaki's would occasionally eat the thrust washer.
I've been looking in various manuals and on line; it looks as though only
the two end bearings and oil pump drive gear will come off. For all else,
the manuals say replace crank assembly.
Is this the case?
I can't imagine sending a crank out to have two end bearings replaced.
Does this mean that the missing thrust bearing will be cured only with a new
crank assembly?
