If it starts at WOT, I would assume it's a bit flooded.  If so, it's not
going to immediately go zooooom - booooom!  It'll flutter around as it
clears itself out.

You can also pull the throttle cables out of the top of the carb a bit.
The cable can be pulled out of the brass adjuster and propped on the
edge of the adjuster to give you some throttle.  Then if / when it
fires, you can just bump the cable and it'll drop right back in.  Can be
a pain without an electric starter or a helper.  Been there...

Thanks for letting me hear from you. I'll try that
tomorrow. Oddly enough, I held the throttle about 1/4
open on some pulls trying everything I could think of
after work today, but it didn't seem to help. How
quickly can you back off of the revs once it fires at
wide open throttle?
