<<<Suspensions .. we should allow an inexpensive non rebuildable gas
charged shock. Pick a shock line, like the popular and cheap Gabriel
gas
bag shocks and allow anyone to use any size unit that the company makes
in that line. Lots of flexibility, lots of dampening options, pricing
around $100 a set. What's not to like? >>>
The fact that to get a consistent, fast set of shocks will require
buying a bunch of them and dynoing to match. Ask the guys who ran
Showroom Stock back in the days of OEM shock rules. You might be able
to buy a set for $100, but you won't win any races with that set.
<<<Wheels and tires .. I'm of the opinion that we should eventually
allow
the option of 13" tires at some point in the future. Maybe set a date
of
acceptance, like 2 years out, and of course, don't exclude our 10"
wheels and tires. >>>
I'm not 100% against this one, but how would you equalize the
performance? How much more contact patch is there when you go to a
FF/FC tire (which is what we're talking about)? Also, if half of our
class moved to 13" tires, how much longer do you think Hoosier/Goodyear
would continue to make competitive 10" tires? Unfortunately, this
could potentially obsolete the vast majority of our cars that can't fit
a 13" wheel/tire without major modifications. [FWIW, I don't see how
changing tire/wheel size would help us get or retain new drivers....]
