Hey Cory, You'll have no problem adapting to the open top. My only caveat is that you may intuitively hook your thumbs inside the "horns" of the wheel kinda like how a cowboy hooks his thumbs in his belt loops. Too frequently I have to think to pull my thumbs into a freer position. Safety issue. Of course, you mileage may vary... greatly. See ya, Charlie and Marilyn
