You are correct Jim! I have taken pictures of Bill Gendron's DSR and the only way to keep the motor alive is to use a dry sump and yes a lot of work and $$$$$$! He makes the dry sump pan himself and does a real nice job of doing it and the whole car!

One more cost to remember is that the stock oil pan HAS to be replaced with
either a special pan or a dry sump ($$$) because the motor no longer leans
over  in the curves and the result is catastrophic oil starvation!!
Just add this to you total cost of owning a bike motor.
