One simple question, how many of those wet sump blown up engines were using an
accusump?

I usually do not get into these, but...

most DSR, CSR - bike
driven machines like the dry sump - ~2K to 2.2K$$

Reasons
- bike motors in their natural environment lean
around corners and the oil tends to stay near the pickup. In a
car environment the motor stays (hopefully ) flat around the corner - oil tends
to leave the pickup
area. The smallest air bubble at 11K rpm and a big end bearing
is probably going to suffer, you may even ventilate the crank case - both
are bad. Sump baffles can help lower the probability of this
happening.
- the dry sump system will lower the Cof G for the motor -
usually a good thing

If money was no object - the motor would
be dry sump 10 times out of 10. But we all live in the real world
and money is always in the equation - oil pan baffles are always less
expensive and designed properly work well.

The dry sump system
will probably provide an operating scenario of greater dependability of
system operating oil pressure over a greater variety of operating
conditions. But, it costs money to purchase and it is another
electro/mechanical device that WILL fail without proper maintenance and
may even fail with proper maintenance.

A story: I was
talking with a custom component builder who attends the run-offs all the
time. This year there was a team running the Kawasaki ZX10 motor,
wet sump. Three days of running - lost three motors. Borrowed
a ZX-10 with a dry sump - no problems. Were there other
circumstances?????
