Daryle Costs so far ..The Weld Racing rim shells in a 10x4 are between $43 and $50 depending where you get them. I bought mine from Speedway Motors, $48.95 ea. ordered on Monday and got em Wednesday. In a earlier post I included a link with a photo of the bead seat area with the rolled outer edge, I think this edge treatment will be a good thing....time will tell. I only had 2024 in 1 inch thick sections, not wanting to waste that much material I purchased 2 pieces of 6013- T651 8x8x1/2 they were $41.34 each retail. I've got dash 4 "jet" nuts coming out my ears but would guess the price at maybe 20 cents ea. Not sure if I want to use "button" heads or AN hex heads for bolts. As for time, the first center took me almost 2 hours ( manual mill no CNC and I'm NOT a machinist) I'm guessing the second one will take about 1 hour to do, got most of it done in about 30 minutes last night. When I'm done I'll post up a few fresh photos. The nice thing for me will be good cheap availability of the wheel shells. I'll give you a completed weight when they are all done, I know the centers are a little heavier than necessary, I'm not an engineer so I need a little overkill on projects. These should finish out as a 8.375 in wide wheel ( just under the 8.5 in class limit ) Dave Phaneuf ________________________________ FormulaCar Magazine - A Proud Supporter of Formula 500 The Official Publication of Junior Formula Car Racing Subscribe Today! www.formulacarmag.com or 519-624-2003 _________________________________
