Chuck and Jay,

Chuck earlier stated:
The manual tranny will be worse as one shifts and upsets the minimally
damped chassis.

If I remember correctly, most MC motors have rubber dampeners on their
mounting points to the MC chassis. I am hoping that these will be re-used in
mounting the MC motors in F500 chassis. Hopefully, since the MC chain drive
can
tolerate deflections, the rubber dampening will help in the shifting shocks
to the chassis and help with the general vibration of the MC motor (chassis
tubing cracks).
In a related side note, I know that Jeff Blumenthal uses rubber dampening in
mounting his Rotax and I have been told over the years that rubber dampening
of CVT motors is not a good idea because it misaligns the two clutches when
the motor torques over. Yet, when I look at parts explosions of snowmobile
sleds, I usually see rubber dampeners in the motor mounts, so which way is the
best the best way?

Curious,

Jim
