I never pondered it before. Years of spiritual practice, as in 
meditation, but no self-inquiry workshops or satsangs. Maybe when 
there's fog, we need to study, or listen to our buddies or teachers to 
help us fill in the gaps, connect the dots, create a story (a la Dr. 
Pete). But I maintain that, when the curtain gets ripped away, for 
however short a moment, the understanding is built in. Prior exercises 
in trying to bend the mind around ideas and words that can never 
capture the truth don't seem to matter.

Maybe I'm wrong. Doesn't matter either. The mind games can be fun. And 
you never know when the curtain will rip away, again, or forever.
