If it doesn't, it's a testament to their own
pettiness.  As I pointed out in my previous post,
any "scratch" received on a mission indicates the
soldier was exposed to extreme danger, and that if
he escaped with only a minor wound, he was just
lucky.

Nobody--*nobody*--disagrees that Swift Boat duty
was as dangerous as it gets.

I can't begin to express my contempt for anyone
who doesn't respect that obvious fact.

Especially when the lack of respect is politically
motivated.
Jstein, anybody that served in a combat zone was doing their duty to their country nothing more nothing less, which in and of it's self is admirable. The bumps and scratches aches and pains come with the territory and are not indicative of any great sacrifice. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers  through out our history suffered far more   than John Kerry with little more than a pat on their back and a thank you, no ribbons no medals. It wasn't me that politicized Kerry's military record , it was he! He claimed to be the war hero. I didn't put that title on him. He did! And he did it for political gain! And I'm sorry how you feel, but as I said ,when you're running for the highest office in the land and you make such claims, get ready. John Kerry, the night he accepted his nomination came out on stage and saluted and said "I'm John Kerry and I'm reporting for duty". John Kerry put on the show  about being a military hero. He politicized it for Political gain. Had he not offended tens of thousands of Viet Nam Vets with his actions after he left the war,  nobody would have said anything about his medals or his military career. He could have gotten away buying medals. Kerry wanted people to,look to his past , but only a small particular part of his past, 4 months spent on a swift boat. He didn't want people to look at his past after those 4 months. The knife he stuck in the back of everybody else that served there, his association with the Vietnam Veterans against the war, his cutting the military budget every time he had a chance to along with intelligence spending showed Kerry was no friend of the military and vets remembered what he did. Serving your country when it calls you is a noble and admirable thing and anybody that does it deserves a measure of respect. But should anybody try to capitalize on that service in the realm of politics  they better be squeaky clean.
