Some can, and some can't. Some *could* but engage in

In fact, it's likely to be just one more post going
through the boatload of Curtis's misreadings. He called
my hand when he shouldn't have.

I believe Curtis when he says he isn't going to respond.
That's been his habit, after all, for quite a while,
bailing when he finds himself in a corner.
