I'm converting all my DVD video discs to mp4 and CDs music discs to mp3, then burning computer backups to Blu Ray discs. For that, I'm using my desktop workstation with the Win 7 and imgBurn. >From what I've read, Win 8 really shines as a home-theater Admin console on a slate or tablet. Apparently you can pin any website as a tile to appear on the Start screen. Very handy for quick access to your favorite sites such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Pandora, or The Daily Show. LoL! On a big screen TV the old pop-up Start menu on XP and Win 7 looks like a button for dummies. All those folders remind me of an old file cabinet. And, who for God's sake, puts their trash can on top of their desk? LoL!
