It is quite self-serving of them to have us believe this.
If you examine your statement a little further, you'll find that all statements by people about themselves, enlightened or so-called unenlightened, are self-serving. Where my mind stops is when I hear about people making 'mistakes'. What IS a mistake, anyway? I personally couldn't tell ya... If someone says they are enlightened, so what? Why are they saying it? That, and $5 will buy you a cup of coffee. The point being that we should only be concerned about our own enlightenment. If someone else claims it, and you think its bullshit, then you think its bullshit. That too, and $5 will buy you a cup of coffee. There is no intrinsic benefit to someone claiming enlightenment here on FFL, or elsewhere, nor can we generalize about what their motive might be. Gee, it might just be what their experience is. If there descriptions of it are beneficial to you, great. If not...find something else that is. > To me, this comes down to, who do I want to give the benefit of the > doubt to, and after years now, and feeling that for much of the past > thirty six years I've been hoodwinked by someone claiming one thing > and acting another. The best thing to do in such a case is confront the feeling. One of the best exchanges I've had on this site was with Akasha108, or whatever his incarnation was at the time. Dude really pissed me off, and I still don't agree with some of the things he said, but he was real about it, and honest about it, and for that I give him a hell of a lot of credit. The only way to get enlightened is to stay real. Don't believe a Goddamned thing unless you can prove it to yourself. > > Who knows [EMAIL PROTECTED] > ------------------------ Yahoo!
