Just as another data point concerning Purusha (don't
know about MD), when I was staying at the TM facility
in Asbury Park some years ago, for the first month I
was there, a Purusha group was based there. They were
some of the most dynamic guys I've ever been around.

Just for one thing, many of them were avid surfers
and would go out in terrible weather in their wet
suits (the Jersey shore doesn't have much substantial
surf except during storms). I happened to be
watching when one of them narrowly escaped drowning.
When he got back to shore, not only was he not scared
and chastened, he was exhilarated.

He also got arrested for surfing when it was
forbidden, but he wasn't charged. The Purusha
guys all thought it was a great lark.
