Well, they do *more* of it, and always in a group.
I can't help but think doing it with a group with
whom you're living exclusively over long periods
might intensify the group synergy.

I really don't know, but I wouldn't rule it out.
If unstressing is a real phenomenon, that could
be responsible for the crying jags, and even at
least some of the illness.  But I don't see how
begging for money indicates a lack of benefits;
could be the benefits are so great they want them
to continue badly enough to do the begging.

I mean, think of politicians running for office...

On the other hand, I can certainly see how the
communal living in a protected environment would
be perceived as a benefit all by itself, so that 
could well be part of it.

When I was a kid, I saw Audrey Hepburn in "The
Nun's Story" and startled my mother by telling
her I had decided I was going to become a nun
when I grew up.
