Here we go again. Most meditative practices will lower stress. Resting
a couple times a day will even do that. TM has no lock on stress
reduction. So lets drop the "only" marketing hype. Ayurveda is really
cool but I recommend people not only see Ayurvedic practitioners but
also take in some weekend seminars so they understand the principles
well and can keep an eye on their own health. And it will take time for
the understanding of the principles to mature so that the individual has
a very deep understanding. Ayurveda could stand to have some mods for
more northly environments and most Indian practitioners I've spoken with
who have been practicing here agree as things don't quite work the same
as they did in India.
