tinyMCE has a great deal of integration with the CMS in 4.0. In
particular, links, images, and related content options are available.
We've effectively written our own tinyMCE plugin. This plugin can be
configured using formtool metadata to change the behaviour of
community or custom content types. For some folks this improvement
alone is the reason they upgrade.

Details about the tinyMCE plugin integration are available here:
http://docs.farcrycms.org:8080/confluence/display/FCDEV40/richtext

We decided to drop core support for other editors in that we can't
provide this level of integration for them all -- they are all
different and would all require separate integration work. However,
the new plugin architecture means that it is very easy to add
additional editor support and/or change the behaviour of the rich text
editor whether its tinyMCE or another plugin.

We will be adding plugin support for the XStandard editor as a
separate community plugin; farcryxstandard. FCKEditor is not on our
list for support at Daemon but we would be happy to assist any team
that wanted to build a plugin to integrate FCKEditor.
