How about adding several new options to the menu bar in the default installation. News, Events, Facts and Nav could be added to demonstrate an implementation of each. Nav could demonstrate how to use the side bar for links, in the same way the farcry site does. I think a lot of newcryers like me would love to have something like this to learn from.
