Quite a thread :)

I do know what you are looking for....... you want a single bar menu across the
top with multiple menu items from your top level each with (potentially) a drop
down underneath that can then have arbitrarily deep popout menu's off those
that complete map your FarCry hierarchy.

I've got Suckerfish CSS drop-down menus working - and it simply uses the "bug-fixed nested list code" with some CSS styles and a wee bit of Javascript to cover IE. But it won't do more than 2 levels at the moment (as Gary mentioned, the guys behind Suckerfish were/are talking about extending it).

The problem is, none of us that have offered solutions are using that style of
menu (and don't have enough time to build one - because the DHTML/CSS is a lot
more complicated - not because doing it in FarCry is more difficult). And the
implementation variations are huge depending how what cross-browser support is
required.

Well put.

Going back a few posts, Brant asked "wondering if someone can point me in a direction to start understanding how to build the drop down menus as on the farcry website."

Out of the three parts of building navigation menus -- 1. Querying the Data, 2. Generating the Mark-up, 3. Styling the Menu -- what part do you need help with Brant?

So far we've been concentrating on part 1 and 2, but as Gary has suggested, maybe you're seeking help with part 3?

Cheers,
Ben
