I think modding the MyFarcry tab would be the best solution up to this
point... Is it as simple as copying the code from home.cfm and making a
custom admin tab out of it?

I don't think there is all that much lacking... you have a nice
extensible framework written, and I think it's better than some of the
other CF-based CMS's out there (many don't use CFCs enough, in my
opinion).

Of the people I mentioned that shy'ed away from Farcry, I think if
anything it was the fact that it pretty much requires developer support,
and would be tough for someone to use "out of the box". Just FYI, this
hold tru for all CMS's, and that's sometimes hard for people to
swallow.
