I don't think there is all that much lacking... you have a nice extensible framework written, and I think it's better than some of the other CF-based CMS's out there (many don't use CFCs enough, in my opinion).
Well we believe FarCry really is an enterprise class solution -- equal (if not better) to the majority of CMS's in that space. The problem with being open source and free is that people often expect the product to be entry level.
Of the people I mentioned that shy'ed away from Farcry, I think if anything it was the fact that it pretty much requires developer support, and would be tough for someone to use "out of the box". Just FYI, this hold tru for all CMS's, and that's sometimes hard for people to swallow.
For sure... very difficult to offer enterprise features without having some expectation of customisation. However, people with zero development experience can always go for a fully hosted solution through one of the numerous ISPs supporting FarCry or come direct to Daemon for a full blown implementation ;)
