The biggest drawback of top posting is the un-necessary billions of lines
tagged on the end. Doesn't matter so much now but it used to.
If you bottom post you normally only post after the last email so it cuts
it down and keeps the context.
Most email clients default to top posting and just truncated the emails at
some number of characters.
Well, I use Outlook Express for replying to mail from this list - and
bottom posting takes an effort. For some reason beyond my understanding,
even though I've told it to always stick to plain text, if I'm replying to a
HTML based email it tries to respond in the same format. Since it does this,
I don't get the nice > prefixes it's supposed to add in. So I have to force
change it to plain text and add a set of > prefixes in front of each line.
