But to be fair you should also know that you can download it for free almost
everywhere:

...

Not sure if the old version of the game will run on new systems though.

Předmět: Kronder games on sale

"

For folks who've been on the list a while, this is old news that crops up
about twice a year - feel free to ignore this. If you're new, or missed
earlier deals, I thought I'd pass it on.

The site gog.com(http://gog.com) sells legal copies of various computer
games, including old games configured to run on modern OS's. This weekend
they're having a sale that includes Betrayal at Krondor and Return to
Krondor, You can buy both for under $5 US combined (and they sell world-
wide, so if you're not in the US you may still be able to purchase). They're
guaranteed to run on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 (toying with picking them
up and trying them under Windows 8, though I own original signed CD-ROMs of
each).

The games came first - Krondor: The Betrayal is based on the game, expanding
on what happened, and other books in the Krondor series fill in around the
story.

BaK is often considered one of the best games of it's kind of all time, even
by people with no other interest in Ray's books. Return to Krondor is
entirely different, not quite as good in the gameplay department, but still
a lot of fun.

Betrayal at Krondor is bundled with Betrayal at Antara, built on the same
engine but unrelated to Midkemia - and apparently broken, with a bug that
causes it to crash. Betrayal at Krondor is worth the price by itself,
though, so I'd just skip Antara entirely.

I get nothing from the sale of these games - Ray may still get a few
pennies, I don't know (and I'm not asking).
