ssh has been down at SF for 2 days .. I was trying to post the new docs, since they have the folding tables of contents :) > (I'm still trying to think of a decent response to the "what should we > be doing" question...) Yeah, so am I. This is a political issue, not a technical one. It's about social organisation not software development. Problem is I'm a geek .. I don't know anything about that, and most of the devs and lurkers probably are too .. :) IMHO we need a radical new marketing approach. I know nothing about marketing. But I think the key thing is FOCUS. Felix combines a lot of technologies, so much when someone asks what it does I throw up my hands in horror! So as an example.. we're calling Felix a programming language. Oh, yeah, another one of them? ..... This attracts programming language geeks. Like me, Jacques, .. But not programmers! So how about: Felix is a User Space Operating System. After all, you can actually run C++ on it .. it's convenient to generate compliant classes with the Felix compiler, but not necessary. In other words, it is in the same category as .NET, except it follows the Unix tradition and defines operations in terms of source, rather than byte, codes. -- John Skaller <skaller at users dot sf dot net> Felix, successor to C++: http://felix.sf.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
