unfortunately, from what you saw, and what her husband said, she most probably did NOT accept any help. and, sadly, it probably will come to the point where she'll be on the news one day... this is when the now-trendy concept of intervention comes in.... at least the husband recognizes there's a problem.... too many times there IS that martyr complex, and the piece of the classic hoarder/collector syndrome where the people really believe that only they are able to truly care for the critters in the correct way.
