Right.  Weird for a person (which I didn't know they were doing!), but seems right for my Monkee.  Plus, it's just a portion of the cremains- they only need 1-2 tablespoons (I hate writing even that though- sounds horrible!).  But this is all new to me.  I just like the idea of having a part of him with me.  Way back when I lost my first cat, I put a teeny tiny rolled up ball of his fur in a locket and wore that around (I still have it).  But something like that was the only option at the time.  I've been pleasantly surprised at all the available memorials nowadays.

This might sound weird Caroline, but after I lost my grandmother three weeks ago, my brother and I were talking about cremation, etc.  He said when he dies, he's going to have his ashes made into a diamond.  I guess they have the technology to do that now.  It's called a LifeGem, or something like that.  I told him he was strange...I just can't imagine wearing my brother on my finger, you know?  lol.  But I don't think it would be weird for an animal's cremation remains to be made into something I could wear.

Thank you Glenda and Wendy for your insight.  We are taking our time to plan something and won't do anything until Aug., so I still have time to think about it.  It's funny though because I just found the pet loss website today on my own and it was really helpful.  I liked the poems and I am really interested in the jewelry memorial websight links for cremains and I plan to get something like that.  I think I could move on better if I really feel like I always have a part of Monkee with me.

Thanks,

Caroline
