Junior is on L lysine all the time. He weighs 13#s and get aprroximately 1000mg split in two doses mixed into his wet food. He does not always finish his food , but he gets most of it. I have not had him tested for FHV but symptom- wise I would say he does have it. He has been in a flare since summer. Most recently the newest Kitten/cat, JJ had a flare up and so junior flared up as well. They both are doing rounds of abx. The good news is that Junior's cough seems to have gotten better. I do keep him in my room most of the day and night with the vaporizer going. I think it has helped as well. It does make my room hot for me though. Junior's eyes were bad during the early stages of his FELV. I think the lysine helped clear them up, but he had aggressive treatment with drops as well. I will always worry about Junior. He has now make it about a year and a half. I thought he would be dead by now. He had a very rough go to begin with. Sally Davis
