The Humane Society in Louisville did the same thing to a wonderful little dog named Jackson. They knew I wanted him and that I was coming to get him that afternoon. One worker called to confirm and tell me Jackson was waiting. A while later another one called and told me they had killed him because he had distemper.........my vets had worked with this disease and had cured it in lots of dogs. Treatment was intense and expensive but I had the ability to cope with that. Then the person who called offered to help me with another dog. Jackson had captured my heart. I had visited him at Feeders' Supply (where they take animals to encourage their adoption) three days in a row to make sure I wanted a dog. It broke my heart.
