Glad to have been able to help.

Forgot to include the third link:

http://www.powerwerx.com/two-way-radios/handheld-wouxun-radios/

These people sell nice Chinese-made radios and are really good to deal with
(prompt polite replys to my dumb questions)

Also, for high-current low voltage connections of any kind (ham, robotics,
CNC, loudspeakers, etc...), you cannot beat the Anderson Power Pole
connector which these folks sell.

There is a free self-paced test available at QRZ.COM

The exam is multiple choice and the test above uses the actual questions
that are used for the examination so it is a simple matter of rote
memorization. Key point -- the answers are the same but the position of the
answers will be changed -- if (a) is the correct answer on the web, (c)
might be its position on the paper exam.

Radios are available for under $100 A really nice setup (optional larger
antenna, a couple of extra batteries, programming software and cable and
decent handheld mic/speaker) is under $200.
