you have a H262 source and can't convert it to a more mordern codec without more quality loss - it's the same when you have MP3 and want to convert your library to opus - you would need the original WAV or at least FLAC sources to do that without degradation

We speak about videos, again give me an example of your not lossy video world

it's not "my world" - it's about H264 to H265 which means quality loss

do you think MGM or Disney are working with lossy compressed video in production and degrade quality with each step?
